Last year we contributed a custom designed chair for the Bridge Communities Chair event and it auctioned off for a lot of money. This year we created another piece for the Chair Affair being held in Hinsdale on October 5th, called The Missing Chair.
There are hundreds of furniture stores and their selections are vast. The problem with buying furniture at a store is it’s not unique. Sometimes we desire to have a custom-made piece that’s one-of-a-kind.
Recently we participated in a local Naperville charity event called the Chair Affair. Local businesses/people signed up to create a chair that would be displayed at a local business for a month. After that, they’d be auctioned off for charity.
I’ve been hitting estate sales lately and I came by a chair that resembled something that could have stylish in the 70’s. The cushions were a mixture of green, orange and brown. I considered just putting this poor chair out of its misery but I saw potential. The lines and structure of this chair were timeless and classy.
